How to Make a Standalone OSX EL Capitan Installer with MacPwn Legacy

Before the release of OS X Lion, Mac users could Fresh Install Mac OS X without a second reboot directly booting with USB or DvD which was easy & convenient, everyone loves that method if you’re one of them you’ll love this tool

Note: This article is for Mac Users not Hackintosh users, Hackintosh users follow the guide How to Vanilla Install EL Capitan on Hackintosh with MacPwn
Read this guide completely once before starting to make the Installer

MacPwn Legacy is a simple tool to create Standalone OS X Installer from AppStore Installer of OS X EL Capitan
all you need is a USB (at-least 8GB) & OS X EL Capitan Appstore Installer the current MacPwn version supports only OS X EL Capitan Version 10.11 (15A284) which can be downloaded here, any how this Utility can be used with any latest EL Capitan versions from AppStore but you have to Extract and replace the kernel with Pacifist, this limitation will be fixed soon

Download MacPwn EL Capitan Legacy from
(Some times you may need Hackintosh Zone account to download macPwn)

First you must erase a USB as “OS X Extended (Journaled)” with Disk Utility make sure the USB storage is at-least 8GB
the following video guide shows how to Erase a Flash Drive in EL Capitan with Disk Utility

Make Sure you have “Install OS X El” in Applications folder, you can download Version 10.11 (15A284) from Direct Download Mac OS X.
Copy OS X El Capitan Installer to Application Folder

Open MacPwn Legacy Installer
Open EL Capitan Legacy Installer Enter Your Password MacPwn Standalone USB Maker

Click Continue
Click Continue MacPwn Legacy

Read Information & Click Continue
Read Information Click Continue MacPwn Legacy

Accept license agreement
Accept License Agreement Click Continue MacPwn Legacy

Click Change Install location
Click Change Install Location

Select the Volume name of the usb that you made & click continue
Select the USB Volume Erase Accept Licence Agreement Click Continue MacPwn Legacy

Wait for the process to Finish, after that open “System Preferences”, Open “Startup Disk” select the Install Volume Name, then click restart

Select Startup Volume EL Capitan

alternatively you can shutdown your mac and start it while holding the key “C” to select the Installer

It may take some time, after it loads

Select the language its better to select English as the guide continues in English

For a new installation of OS X, you MUST erase and format the destination drive according to the following steps before continuing. (Make sure you have backup all datas)

In the top menubar choose Utilities, and open Disk Utility
Highlight your target drive for the installation of El Capitan in left column.

Click Erase button
For Name: type Mac or any names as you wish
For Format: choose OS X Extended (Journaled)
For Scheme: choose GUID Partition Map
Click Erase
Close Disk Utility

When the installer asks you where to install, choose Mac, or the name that you used upon completion, the system will automatically restart.
